Motability Car News For Quarter 4 2022
In October Motability announced that the 'Good Condition Bonus' would be replaced by the 'Good Condition Payment'. This applies to all new Motability vehicles ordered on or after 1 October 2022. The value of the Good Condition Payment will be £250 for vehicles leased over 3 years. For vehicles leased over 5 years (usually Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles) the Good Condition Payment will be worth £350.
They also announced that they were paying £350 of the Good Condition Bonus early to help existing customers with the cost-of-living crisis.
Vehicle availability will continue to be an issue for Motability customers during October, November and December 2022. Car industry bosses have been warning for a while that the impact of Covid-19, Brexit and the worldwide semiconductor shortage will continue to affect new car production until the middle of 2023.
Another factor to consider is the Governments recent decision to scrap the grant scheme for brand new electric cars.
Your local Motability Specialist will be able to advise you on what’s currently available. If you want your next Motability vehicle quickly you may have to be flexible and choose a colour or trim level that's not your first choice. The alternative could be a long wait for the delivery of your new vehicle.
