I usually kick off a New Year with a new way to enjoy black eyed peas and greens, a new planner and a new breakfast treat. As much as I love a new breakfast treat, fa*gE is still my go-to breakfast.

If you are a fa*gE fan, then I bet you understand why it’s so hard to walk away from a super quick and easy, tried and re-tested, nutritious, breakfast of creamy, luscious, fa*gE Total 5% Greek yogurt, crunchy granola and honey – right?

If you’ve been piddling around my blog in the past, then you know fa*gE Total 5% Greek yogurt is a favorite with my daughter and I. Most times, I enjoy fa*gE Total 5% Greek yogurt with Apple Walnut Granola or this Cranberry Coconut Granola. I also use it in baked treats and late night quick eats like these Pumpkin Greek Yogurt Pancakes.

My daughter, on the other hand, likes to add a dollop of fa*gE Total 5% Greek yogurt to her breakfast burritos or enjoy a savory yogurt breakfast bowl – quite similar to the raita my mom usually serves to balance off a super spicy meal. Isn’t it wonderful how versatile fa*gE Total 5% Greek yogurt can be?

All natural, fa*gE Total 5% Greek yogurt is made with only milk and live active yogurt cultures, is protein-rich, contains no added sugar (contains only naturally occurring milk sugar) and is Non-GMO Project Verified. And, I love it because of its distinctive rich, creamy and delicious taste – but wait, I already said that a few paragraphs ago!

Lusciously creamy fa*gE Total 5% Greek yogurt is the star of FIVE yogurt breakfast bowls (including one with Cranberry Coconut Granola) that are sure to help you stick to your New Year’s health goals!

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp almond extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 ½ cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • ½ cup shredded unsweetened coconut
  • 1 egg white whisked well

Instructions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Place coconut oil and maple syrup in a microwave safe dish and microwave on 10-15 seconds intervals until coconut oil is melted (took me 2 x 15 seconds)

Then add in vanilla extract, almond extract, salt, cinnamon and mix well.

Then add in the rolled oats, cranberries and coconut and mix to coat dry ingredients with wet ingredients.

Finally fold in the well whisked egg and mix until it is incorporated.

Line a baking tray with parchment or silpat and spread out cranberry coconut oat mix onto baking tray.

Bake for 32-37 minutes at 325 degrees.

Remove from oven and set aside until it is completely cool. When it is completely cool, you will have the clumpiest granola. So clumpy that you might have to break the large pieces apart!

Enjoy granola with fa*gE Total 5% Greek Yogurt and honey or maple syrup!
